Who Are Your Directors At Young People’s Day Camp Of Staten Island?

Keith Glauber: Director

Keith brings a lot to the table at Young People’s Day Camp of Staten Island. Keith has been the owner/director of Young Peoples day camp of Staten Island for 14 years. He was a former pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds, so he knows the advantages that physical activity can offer children and adults. But Keith is also an educator, so he also understands the value of balancing activities and education in a child’s life.

What makes Keith such an asset to YPDC is how he combines his experience as a teacher, an athlete and a former camper to make each summer the best it can be. He’s instilled that in his own 3 boys, two of whom are camp counselors themselves, and he’s facilitated life-changing summers for several generations of campers. Best of all, Keith has an “open door policy” with campers, parents and staff. He’s always eager and ready to speak with you about any question you might have.

Chris Igneri: Co-Director

Chris offers a unique perspective to his experience at Young People’s Day Camp of Staten Island. He started off as a counselor in 18 years ago and, since then, has taken on many different positions at YPDC. He’s mastered each job and worked his way through the “ranks” to be where he is today, but he’s never forgotten the hard work it took! As Keith’s co-director, he uses his unique perspective on the different YPDC positions to manage day-to-day activities.

During the school year, Chris works for the New York City Department of Education with instructional support students and he is certified to teach in both New Jersey and New York. He uses his background to help support campers and facilitate a fun and educational summer. One of Chris’ greatest assets is how he treats every camper like family.
