Brendan McCaffrey

Executive Director

Brendan McCaffrey has been affiliated with Young People's Day Camps since 1995. In that time, he has been the Director of our Staten Island and Monmouth(NJ) camps. In 2004, Brendan became the Director of YPDC of Nassau.

Brendan is a graduate of Canisius College, where he captained the Men's Varsity Basketball Team for two years. Upon college graduation, Brendan entered the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction as a Sergeant. Brendan holds two Masters Degrees, and is a Social Studies Chairperson in the North Babylon School District. Brendan utilizes his athletic background as well as his leadership skills by coaching Boys Varsity Basketball at North Babylon High School as well as Soccer and Lacrosse at the middle school. His team recently won the Suffolk County basketball championship. Brendan was also awarded the Suffolk County basketball coach of the year honors. In addition  Brendan was just awarded the 2020 "Sportsmen of the Year" by the Suffolk County Referee Association. Congratulations!

As the director of YPDC of Nassau, Brendan oversees the day to day operations of the camp program, and works with Brian (Assistant Director) year round to plan for the forthcoming camp season.

Brendan resides in East Islip with his son Brendan(former camper), wife Michele and their daughter Maggie(camper)


Brian Snyder

Director

Brian Snyder is the Assistant Director of Young People’s Day Camp of Nassau. As the Assistant Director, Brian is responsible for staff development, athletics, programming and special events like field trips and parties. He has an energetic and contagious personality that allows the camp to flourish as one of the best Nassau County has to offer.

 

Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue and his master’s degree From Stony Brook University. He is currently teaching at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon. He also coaches girls and boys basketball, Soccer and Lacrosse at the middle school level, with an emphasis on character building and earning good grades in class.

 

Brian lives in Islip with his wife Danielle (the camp’s painting instructor), their daughters Parker (a camper and Drama club supervisor) and Nola( a camper), and their dogs Hershey and Tootsie.


Bryn Worrilow

Assistant Director

Bryn Worrilow has been part of the Young People's Day Camp family since 2006. In that time, Bryn has been a counselor, group leader, Athletic Director, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and camp administrator.

Bryn is a graduate of Springfield College, where she excelled as a student athlete and was recognized as an All-American Collegiate Athlete while earning her degree in Physical Education.

In 2013, Bryn attained her Master's Degree in General Education/Special Education. Bryn is currently a high school teacher in the Bronx. Additionaly, she is a varsity soccer coach as well as the varsity softball coach. Bryn also serves as her schools Athletic Director. Congratulations to Bryn on her recent marriage to her husband Patrick!!


Michele McCaffrey

Assistant Director/Lunch Coordinator

Michele McCaffrey has been with YPDC since 2008. Prior to marriage and family, Michele had a career as a Director of Customer Services within the Travel Industry. Michele is the Camp Liaison to parents, and is responsible for planning trips and Special Events. In addition, Michele is the Lunch coordinator as well as the Camp Roving Reporter and Photographer!

Michele is a graduate of Farmingdale State University, where she majored in Business and minored in Photography! Michele resides in East Islip with her husband Brendan (The Director), and their  son, Brendan Junior and daughter Maggie


Lauren DiGregorio

Camp Manager

Lauren DiGregorio is the office manager at Young People’s Day Camp of Nassau. She first started as a counselor back in 2007 and has always been a major asset to the YPDC family. She graduated from Saint Joseph’s College, earning her degree in Special and General Education. In 2012, Lauren attained her Master’s Degree in Literacy Education. During the school year she is a pre-school teacher in North Babylon UFSD. Congratulations to Lauren who was just married this past summer to her husband Nick!!!


Mike Davidson

Co-Executive Director

As the Director of YPDC of Suffolk, Mike has been involved with camping for more than 30 years. Mike is retired from the NYC Board of Education, where he had a long career as a teacher/administrator.

As the Director, Mike is not only involved in the day to day operations of the camp, but he spends much of the off season planning and programming a dynamic calendar of events for the upcoming camp season. When not involved in camp, Mike travels and spends lots of time with his twin granddaughters, whom, of course, attend YOUNG PEOPLE’S DAY CAMP OF NASSAU!


Mike Cashman

Athletic Director/Transportation Coordinator

Mike Cashman has been with YPDC since 2016. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut University where he majored in Physical Education and played four years as a goalie for the Soccer team. In his last year he won a national championship and was nominated to the United States All-American team. Mike Currently is in his 25th year as a Middle School physical Education teacher in North Babylon. He is also the Boy's Varsity Soccer coach and Boy's Junior Varsity Basketball coach as well as Lacrosse coach at North Babylon High School. Mike has two sons Justin and jack who both attend Young People's Day Camp of Nassau.
