F.A.Q.
At Young People’s Day Camp, we make transportation easy and comfortable for our campers! Our air-conditioned buses provide door-to-door pickup* between 7:00 and 8:30 AM, ensuring a smooth and stress-free start to the day. After a fun-filled camp experience, children are safely dropped off at home after 3:00 PM.
Please have your child ready and waiting outside 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. If your child misses the bus, call the driver right away to see if they can still pick them up. If they’re unable to, the driver will inform the Director when they arrive at camp.
If your child cannot attend camp for the day, please call the bus driver or director as soon as possible to notify them of this.
Dress comfortable ready for action and the summer weather! We also recommend that your child wears sneakers every day as we spend a lot of time outdoors. Sneakers provide the best support and help minimize the risk of injuries during games and activities. And just to clarify—sneakers don’t mean Crocs in sports mode! (haha)
On swim days, we recommend that your child wear their bathing suit all day for convenience, especially for our younger campers. This helps avoid any issues with changing. While at the pool, children will be allowed to keep their towel and flip-flops on the deck. Please remember to pack sunscreen and a change of clothes for after swim time.
Campers are supervised in small groups with an 8:1 camper-to-counselor ratio to ensure individual attention and a safe, engaging environment. Our team of counselors includes experienced teachers, enthusiastic college students, and responsible junior counselors who are high school age. Additionally, our Health Director, Activities Supervisor, and Camp Director are actively involved in daily activities to ensure a fun and well-managed experience for all campers.
All trips are included in the camp rate, so there are no additional fees for the outings. However, many trip locations have snack stands where campers can purchase treats. While these purchases are optional, they’re usually quite popular with the kids! If your camper would like to buy something, feel free to send them with a small amount of spending money.
Yes, we offer door-to-door transportation for all campers! However, depending on the area, it may be safer to designate a nearby pick-up/drop-off location rather than directly at the door to ensure the safety of both the bus and the campers. These situations are handled on a case-by-case basis, and we’ll communicate any changes in advance to keep everything running smoothly.
On your child’s first day of camp, they will receive their camp shirt and camp bag. We’ll also provide a brief orientation to go over the camp’s rules and regulations, ensuring they’re all set for a fun and safe summer!
The best way to reach the camp during the summer is by contacting our Camp Director, Kellie Orcutt. She’s happy to assist with any questions or concerns!
