At Young People's Day Camp of Queens our staff makes the difference. Our entire staff is dedicated to giving your child a safe, enriching, fun-filled, and memorable summer. Camp operation is directed by Licensed Teachers and Administrators with more than 65 years combined experience. All Counselors are directly supervised by Division Heads consisting of experienced teachers and childcare professionals. College age counselors are provided with small groups and are aided by Assistant Counselors and CIT's. All staff is carefully interviewed and screened including a search with the NYS Department of Criminal Justice. During the selection process preference is given to teachers and education majors. To ensure a well rounded staff and enriching camp program our staff includes many specialty instructors including art, music, dance, drama, martial arts and swim. All staff undergoes an extensive training and orientation process annually. Please take a moment to meet some of our key staff members below.

More than 35 years experience with Young People's Day Camp. Father of four and Grandfather of five. Retired Teacher, Track and Wrestling coach, American Safety & Health Institute Certified Wilderness First Aid Provider with CPR/AED.

More than 20 years experience with Young People's Day Camp. Former Assistant Director, Division Head and Counselor with YPDC. Executive Program Director of Elite Safety & Health. CPR/First Aid Instructor & ASHI Certified Wilderness First Aid Provider. Former Captain and Firefighter/EMT with the Syosset Fire Department for 13 years. Graduated Long Island University C.W. Post 2003. Former Captain of 3 years with C.W. Post Emergency Medical Services.

Assistant Director

More than 10 years experience with Young People's Day Camp. Former Program Coordinator for 2 years, counselor 4 years at LDS Young Woman's Girl's Program. Fluent in Spanish. Executive Director Elite Safety & Health. CPR & First Aid Instructor, ASHI Wilderness First Responder / CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Majored in Public Relations & Communications at Long Island University C.W.

More than 6 years experience with Young People's Day Camp. Former Lead Health Care Provider. NYS Certified Emergency Medical Technician,  Certified in CPR & First Aid. American Heart Association/American Health & Safety Institute CPR/First Aid Instructor. Adjunct EMT Instructor at Queensborough Community College. Graduate of CUNY York College.

More than 4 years experience with Young People's Day Camp. NYC Certified Lifeguard,  Certified in CPR & First Aid.  American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Certification. Seven years Ocean Lifeguard experience Four years Pool Lifeguard experience. Graduate of West Virginia University. Mother of one.
