F.A.Q.
Young People’s Camp of SI uses 20 passenger air conditioned buses. We will pick up each child between 7:30 and 8:15 with door to door transportation. Children will be home between 3:45 and 4:30 in the afternoon. Camp dismisses at 3:10. Unfortunately, aftercare is not provided.
Try and have your child outside waiting 10 minutes before the bus is supposed t o pick him or her up. If the bus fails to make it to the house, please call the bus company as soon as possible. Sometimes, they come back to pick up your child.
If your child cannot attend camp for the delay, please call the bus company as soon as possible to notify them of this. The driver will notify me when he comes to camp in the morning. You may always call Keith at 732-768-2279!
I highly recommend that all children wear SNEAKERS every day. They will help cut down on blisters, bug bites, and small injuries. Wear light clothing, and always drink plenty of water. Pack lunch on a daily basis and only bring towels on swim days.
On swim days I find it easier for the child to wear the bathing suit all day because it easier to avoid changing especially for the younger child. When we are at the pool the children will be allowed to have their towel, and flip flops on deck. Please pack sunscreen!
Lunch can be purchased daily for $12 per day.
Campers will be supervised in a group with an 8:1 camper to counselor ratio. For children of the age between 4 and 5 they will be supervised with a 4:1 ratio. The counselors will be college age with junior counselors in high school. My assistant directors will also be supervising along with me.
No! All of the trips are included in the camp fee. If you would like to buy something on the trip, then you would need additional money for that.
All money for camp should be paid by June 15th of that year. I have payment plans that are available to start as early as when the summer ends. Most people start the payment plan in January.
On the child’s first day of camp they will receive their shirts, bags, and water bottle. They will also be given an orientation of the rules and regulations of camp on that day.
The absolute best way to reach the camp during the summer is emailing Keith Glauber. You may also call the camp at 732-768-2279 between the hours of 7 and 4. After that and during the offseason please call 718-701-3600.
